We are excited to announce that the SmartBIO Early-Career Researcher Symposium this year will take place in December. The networking event is intended for students and early-career postdocs within SmartBIO Research Program at UTU and ÅAU. We encourage particularly all new SmartBIO members to join the day! The full-day event will be held:

@date: 15th December, 2022
@time: 8:30 – 22:00

During the day you will have warm-up networking flash talks, workshop and networking. Your day will end up with the world’s largest smoke sauna and outside spa with hot tubs, as well as a get-together dinner in Herrankukkaro with food and drinks. Bus transportation will be arranged in both directions.

Register at latest Sunday 4th December
The registration link has been sent via email to the whole SmartBIO team on 10.11.2022.
The number of attendees is limited to 45 and the registration is handled on the first-come-first-served basis, so don’t wait till the last moment.

We encourage everyone to participate to the flash-talk session by presenting a one-page slide in flexible form with maximum 3-minute talk. The slide can contain contents such as personal introduction, scientific strength, interesting research tools, unique methods or equipments, or advertising your articles, etc., to let SmartBIOers become familiar with each other. Please send the slide in .pdf form (no animations) to Matias (matias.alvear@abo.fi) at latest by December 9th.  All the slides will be shared during the symposium.

The final version of the program will be shared closer to the event by email. Please follow the SmartBIO web pages for freshly updated information.

People behind the event are Matias Alvear (matias.alvear@abo.fi), Gabor Toth (gabor.toth@utu.fi), Veronika Badazhkova (veronika.badazhkova@abo.fi) and Roland Ndeh (roland.c.ndeh@utu.fi). Feel free to drop your concerns anytime!
