SmartBIO travel support 2025 awardees have been chosen

SmartBIO decided this year to support early-career researchers’ congress trips by opening travel support call in January. We received 22 applications out of which nine were awarded.

When making the funding decision special emphasis was given for applications coming from active SmartBIO members. Also, those who received travel support on pervious call 2023 were not supported this time.

 

The funded researchers are

Pulmu Eloranta, 400 €, University of Turku, traveling 6-12 September 2025 to Germany for 76th Annual Meeting – International Society of Electrochemistry

Juha Kurkela, 400 €, University of Turku, traveling 19-24 October 2025 to Denmark for The Nordic Photosynthesis Congress and Nordic Algae Symposium 2025 (NPC-NAS 2025)

Federica Orabona, 400 €, Åbo Akademi, traveling 12-16 May 2025 to France for The International Symposium on Green Chemistry (ISGC)

Marjaana Rantala, 100 €, University of Turku, traveling 27-28 May 2025 to Helsinki for The XIII Finnish Plant Science Days

Iida-Maria Rantanen, 100 €, University of Turku, traveling 27-28 May 2025 to Helsinki for The XIII Finnish Plant Science Days

Artur Sannikov, 400 €, University of Turku, traveling 22-26 June 2025 to Czech Republic for the Metabolomics 2025

Wander Perez Sena, 400 €, Åbo Akademi, traveling 12-16 May 2025 to France for the International Symposium on Green Chemistry – ISGC 2025
